ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC crews watched people return to a COVID-19 testing site Friday after it closed abruptly on Thursday.

The Center for COVID Control temporarily shut down after dozens of complaints and investigations by New York State, the Better Business Bureau and News10NBC.

Folks who went to the center and got a result two weeks later or not at all have already shared their stories with News10NBC.

On Friday, News10NBC talked to Jose Rivera, a Churchville man who has also been waiting for test results.

"I came two days ago and they say you're supposed to get your results in 30 minutes to an hour and it's Friday and I still haven't gotten my results," Rivera said.

Thursday night, the company said it's pausing for a week to re-train staff.

It also promised "patient samples collected, as well as other patients awaiting results, will be carefully processed... And results provided in a timely fashion."

The center's owners in Chicago closed this site and every other one in the country after complaints that it didn't get results back and an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
