ALBION, N.Y. (WHEC) —Orleans County has declared a State of Emergency for the coronavirus pandemic and has recommended that schools close, a recommendation that districts have agreed to follow.
Lynne Johnson, the Chair of the Orleans County Legislature, said that while there are no confirmed cases yet they believe it is "inevitable" that COVID-19 will arrive in the county.
Superintendents from Kendall, Albion, Medina, Lyndonville, and Holley voiced support for the move in the press release. Although further information was not given, it is available at the websites of the districts.
