ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — As phase one of reopening is underway in the Finger Lakes region, the next phase could start about two weeks from Friday.
It will depend largely on the success of phase one. However, if all goes well, professional services, finance and insurance, retail, administrative support, real estate and rental leasing will all be allowed to reopen after in phase two.
Phase three includes restaurants, food services and hotels and other accommodations.
The fourth and final phase includes arts, entertainment, recreation, and education. News10NBC is still waiting to hear what phase will include salons and barbershops.
While that all applies to businesses, here's what Governor Andrew Cuomo said about how people should behave during the reopening process.
"I suggest caution, again, because this virus has only gotten worse the more we know, but there is no law or regulation that tells you how to interact with your personal relationships,” Cuomo said. “That's up to you. I hope you do it smartly, but that's up to you."
State officials said, at this point, churches will also fall under phase four and will be subject to the guidelines for large gatherings.
