ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The new Majority Leader of the Senate Chuck Schumer spent some time with Rochestarians talking about the $900 billion relief package as a whole Friday.

"This is a good bill but we're going to have to do more in terms of trying to get a large infrastructure bill which will employ a lot of people, as I said I'd like to get more direct checks to people to stimulate the economy," Schumer said.

Schumer says this emergency bill is only intended to last until about march so it's not the end of what's coming.

He said in the next bill, they want to get direct state and local relief.
