ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Local businesses are doing anything and everything possible to stay afloat during these uncertain times.
Our Small Business Spotlight shines on a restaurant in Greece that decided it needed to make some alterations to provide for quick take-out service.
The Original Charbroil House & Catering on Island Cottage Road has been in business for almost 60 years.
Dave and Stacey Palumbo are the third generation to run the company.
After the governor closed sit-down service at restaurants, the Palumbos decided to create a make-shift drive-thru window so they could keep operating and keep their full-timers employed.
"I've been working here since I was a kid, so this is my life and everything I got. And I'm not losing it," Dave said.
"We wake up, we figure out what hours we're gonna do, who's gonna be on and we just do it. Whatever needs to be done, everybody's chipping in and just doing it,” Stacey said. “Our crew is amazing. We're making it work."
Their hours vary from day to day right now, but Dave says customers can monitor their Facebook page to find out about any changes in their hours.
