ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Instead of a stimulus check, you may get a stimulus debit card this week.
The Department of the Treasury said about four million payments will be sent on a debit card. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said the debit cards allow them to deliver the payments quicker.
You can use the card to make purchases, transfer funds between bank accounts, and get cash from all ATMs.
Two weeks ago, News10NBC told you more payments were expected to be sent out by the end of May or early June.
As of last week, more than 130 million stimulus payments have gone out to taxpayers.
If you have questions about your stimulus payment, you can call the IRS helpline at 800-919-9835.
