(WHEC) — Another study found evidence that hydroxychloroquine, the drug President Trump is taking in hopes of warding off the virus could be deadly for some.

A new study suggests the drug increases the risk of death, as well as serious heart problems.

Researchers looked at data from more than 96,000 patients hospitalized with COVID-19.

They found those who took chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine were more likely to die compared to those who didn't take the antimalarial drugs.

That risk increased if they took the drugs with an antibiotic.

Also, those who took hydroxychloroquine had a higher risk of serious heart arrhythmias according to the study.
