CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Local musicians are making sure that military heroes don't feel isolated or alone during the isolated time of coronavirus.

The group "Teens for Veterans" has put together a virtual concert featuring musical performances for area veterans. The group usually organizes performances at the V.A. Hospital in Canandaigua, but coronavirus-imposed social distancing forced them to come up with an online version of the concert.

About a dozen musicians from Pittsford Mendon High School and the Eastman School performed pieces, which have now been put together into a show.

Even though most of the pieces are solos or carefully separated duets this time, the concert's organizer is grateful they can still offer the gift to veterans.

"We are lucky," says Isabella He, a Junior at Pittsford Mendon High School. "We live in such a time that this is happening where we are able to have a lot of technology to be able to share music as a musician. So even though symphonies aren't able to meet in person and we are not able to go to the hospital to perform, we still are able to share our music online through YouTube."

The concert can be seen on YouTube here
