ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Work is cranking up in Rochester to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.
Saturday afternoon, volunteers went door-to-door to get people to sign up for their shots. It comes as a new mass vaccine site in the old Kodak Hawkeye parking lot opened up earlier in the week.
Appointments are now available for people living in certain zip codes that represent underserved communities.
Some 6,400 people had already signed up since Wednesday, and Monroe County officials say there will be 28,000 appointments over the 11 weeks the site will be open.
