2 states, Virgin Islands added to travel advisory list, 4 states dropped

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The number of states and territories on New York's travel advisory list is going down by one.

The governor announced on Tuesday that Hawaii, South Dakota, and the Virgin Islands now meet the metrics to qualify for the list.

However, Alaska, New Mexico, Ohio, and Rhode Island have been dropped from the advisory.

People traveling to New York State from these states are required to quarantine for 14 days as a precautionary measure, regardless of whether or not they’ve tested positive for COVID.
