In-Depth: A look at the latest COVID transmission rates in NY

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — We're going In-Depth for you to look at the latest data of COVID transmission rates. It comes just after Governor Cuomo announced Wednesday the 11 p.m. curfew for casinos, bowling alleys, pool halls, movie theaters, gyms, and fitness centers in New York state will end on Monday, April 5.

The latest data posted from the state showing transmission rates came out back in December, which was at the height of the second surge around the holidays.

It found only 1.43% of transmissions were happening at restaurants and bars. Arts and entertainment had a .08 transmission rate, and gyms were towards the bottom of the list at .06%.

Household and social gathering had the highest spread rate at 73%.
