Caledonia man charged in stabbing

CALEDONIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Caledonia man is facing felony assault charges after deputies say he stabbed another man multiple times earlier this month.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on Lehigh Street in the Village of Caledonia at around 12:30 a.m. back on April 9 by a man who told them his son was stabbed, and that the person who did it had run off.

Deputies say 39-year-old Isaiah D. Parnell of Caledonia got into a physical altercation with the victim and stabbed him. The victim had to be taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to undergo surgery for his injuries. He has since been released.

Parnell was arrested the same day that the incident happened. He was arraigned on charges of second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
