LIVINGSTON COUNTY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Harmful Algae Blooms were found along the eastern shoreline of Conesus Lake according to the Livingston County Department of Health.
The department says it was found by visual monitoring, and the blooms occur in warm, still water.
It’s advising people not to swim, wade or play in the water or allow pets to, or use it for drinking or cooking.
If there is contact with the water, wash the area with soap and clean water.
The public drinking water supply is not affected and is safe to drink according to the Department of Health.
