ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Some local schools are transitioning to online classes due to worries of coronavirus spread.

Effective March 16, all public schools in Monroe County will be closed until further notice. Ontario County has done the same


Orleans County's public schools will also close, as will Genesee and Yates counties

Schools in Steuben County will also be closing. The closure is effective March 18 and will be through April 12. 

Allendale Columbia suspended in-person classes starting Friday, March 13.

McQuaid will close on Monday, March 16 and will move to distance learning using digital instruction on March 18. 

Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women will begin remote instruction on Tuesday, March 17. It will last until April 13.

Rochester Prep is transitioning to remote learning as of the end of the day Friday, March 13.

Vertus High School is suspending school beginning on Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20.
