MT. MORRIS, N.Y. (WHEC) — Livingston County Wednesday announced the beginning of improvements to its dog control facility.

The expansion to the facility at the Livingston County Hampton’s Corners Complex on Gypsy Lane in Mt. Morris is meant to enhance the grooming area and streamline the animal intake process.

The project is also going to improve safety standards for the dogs and dog control officers.

It's made possible thanks to a $112,500 grant from the State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

Livingston County says on average, there are three to six dogs at the facility, though, during the busiest times of the year, that can grow to almost 20.
