Livonia woman charged with DWI, possessing gun on school grounds with child in car

LIVONIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Livonia woman is accused of driving drunk and bringing a loaded handgun onto school grounds.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office was called to Livonia Central Schools last Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. for a report of a drunk driver.

Deputies say 55-year-old Lisa Minery had a child younger than 16 years old and a gun in her car at the time, as well as a BAC of .18%, more than twice the legal limit.

She was taken into custody and charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds.

Minery was arraigned at the Livingston County Jail and released on her own recognizance under the NYS Justice Reform Act.
