GENESEO, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Beaver Dams man was sentenced to 20 years in prison and five years post-release supervision Tuesday for stabbing a woman at the Geneseo Walmart back in June of 2020.

Gregory Cunningham pleaded guilty back in March to first degree assault charges for the attack.

It happened on June 9 just after 4 p.m. in the refrigerated section. Police say Cunningham stabbed a woman multiple times with a pocket knife and she suffered several broken and chipped bones in her back and arm, as well as nerve damage.

She ran to the front of the store for help.
