NEW YORK (WHEC) — New York State is giving out a second round of funding to help get non-profit organizations involved in this year's census.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday that up to $5 million will be made available for non-profits that help with the census.
Cuomo says non-profits play an important role in getting all citizens counted for the census, especially in at-risk and hard-to-count communities.
"Reading in the newspaper every week, ICE coming in and looking here, and ICE attacking this one, and violence," Cuomo said. "That is the obstacle that we have to overcome, and we need your help to do it."
