Rochester man with 10 license suspensions arrested in Livingston County

NORTH DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man who has had his license suspended or revoked 10 times was arrested in Livingston County on drug and traffic charges last Wednesday..

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says that 39-year-old Stephen Zambito was stopped at a traffic stop in North Dansville on March 18 after reports of a vehicle being driven erratically. A check into Zambito's record found his history of license suspension, and evidence was found to indicate that Zambito had used drugs in the car and been operating it under the influence.


After a sobriety test, Zambito was taken into custody for DWAI. An evaluation by a drug recognition expert found that Zambito was under the influence of a narcotic analgesic and could not have been operating the vehicle safely.

Zambito has been charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving while ability impaired by drugs. He was later released under the Criminal Justice Reform Act and is schheduled to answer to charges at a later date.
