ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — With most kids out of school on February break, there are many family-friendly activities taking place in the Rochester area.

Throughout the week:

  • "Fire-Breathing School Break" at The Strong National Museum of Play. Create your own medieval legend in an enchanted play area, then visit the new "Lost World of Dragons" exhibit. Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Included with general admission.
  • Animal Week at Rochester Museum and Science Center. Activities planned every day with appearances by animals including porcupines, lemurs, turtles, foxes, kangaroos, and more.
  • "Free Youth February" at the Seneca Park Zoo. Up to five kids between ages 3-11 can visit for free with each adult purchase of an admissions ticket.
  • Last day of February Fun Week at Ganondagan State Historic Site.
  • Greece Parks and Recreation "Patriotic Bash". Events run 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 3 Vince Tofany Boulevard, Greece.
  • Rochester Amerks host Lehigh Valley Phantoms, 7:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena.

Saturday, Feb. 22:

  • RIT Girls in STEM Fair RIT's K-12 University Center: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m (1 Lomb Memorial Drive)
  • Native American Winter Games at Ganondagan: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Winter Slam at Irondequoit Sports Center: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (557 Ridge Road)
  • Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County Children's Corner present "Frozen 2". 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Rochester Amerks host Cleveland Monsters, 7:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena.
