ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It’s a special day for some awesome students from our schools.

The winners of the “Do the Right Thing” awards! We’ve shared all the stories of how they are making a difference. Wednesday, they all got to hang out together for the annual end-of-year celebration at Seabreeze.

Organizers say this is all about showing our young people there are opportunities to do good in their community.

“The more we can show that our young people that there’s a different way, that there’s a path you can follow, that can get you out from under the nonsense. Organizations like ‘do the right thing,’ situations that encourage and lift up our young people, can’t do anything but good,” said James McCauley, Do the Right Thing board president

News10NBC is a proud sponsor of “Do the Right Thing,” and morning anchor Brennan Somers helps highlight the winners all year long.

Any child K through 12 in Monroe County can be nominated.
