Wayne County man faces multiple charges after holding woman against her will

WOLCOTT, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Wayne County man is accused of holding a woman against her will, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 17, deputies responded to a call on Wadsworth Road in Wolcott around 3 a.m. to an incident stemming from family trouble.

They say 34-year-old Joshua Penta choked a woman, took her phone, and held her against her will when she tried to call for help.

Penta is charged with assault in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail and has since been released.
