Shaylah A. Hunt has come home safe after being missing for over 18 hours, according to her father.

The Rochester Police Department had been searching Saturday for the missing 10-year-old girl, who RPD say had spent the night with friends without communicating her whereabouts to her family.

RPD had confirmed that the Lake Section was searching for Shaylah, who lives on Villa Street. According to her parents, she was believed to have disappeared after leaving her grandmother's house about a block and a half from her home on Friday night. This was never confirmed by RPD, however.

The Facebook page of Shaylah's mother Leslie initially said she was last seen around 6:30 p.m. Friday at the McDonald's on Lake Avenue and Lexington Avenue. According to an interview with Shaylah's parents, however, that report may not have been accurate as security footage from the location did not show her there.

According to her parents, Shaylah was wearing a pink hoodie at the time of her disappearance and stands about 4'11'' or 5'0''.

Police say an Amber Alert was not sent in the case as authorities had not confirmed that the circumstances of Shaylah's disappearance met the requirements for such an alert.
