2 men charged in connection with Lyell Avenue murder

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a Rochester man last week.

Investigators say 23-year-old Tasmere Kenard was shot and robbed by two suspects on Lyell Avenue near Whitney Street around 2 a.m. on Sept. 14. Kenard was transported to the hospital where he later died

The suspects were identified as Tremaine Coley and Delvern Duran, both from Rochester.

Coley, 38, was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree murder and robbery in the first degree. He will be arraigned Friday morning.

Duran, also 38, was arrested on Sept. 15 and charged with robbery in the first degree. He remains in the Monroe County Jail.

Additional charges may be considered by a grand jury against Coley and Duran.

The investigation is ongoing. 

The mugshots have not yet been released.
