SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHEC) -- It was any old Monday for two teens in Syracuse until they happened upon a $650,000 car.
Sitting on West Washington Street was a Rolls Royce Phantom, unlocked with the keys inside.
According to Syracuse.com, in an interview with police, the two teens admitted to taking it for a joy ride for nearly two hours before parking it on Leon Street, taking a picture with it and taking off. A man who witnessed the teens taking the picture later called police.
Officers caught up with three teens later in the day on Clarendon Street following reports of people acting suspicious.
Police say two of the three teens, who have not been identified, were allegedly the ones who stole the luxury car. Police later discovered all three teens had been breaking into cars near the university area. They were charged with attempted petit larceny and conspiracy for trying to break into cars on Clarendon Street.
Two of the three teens face additional charges of grand larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing the Rolls Royce.
