HANOVER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two New York State Troopers were injured during a traffic stop that prompted a response from the bomb disposal unit.

It happened Wednesday morning in the Town of Hanover.

According to our Buffalo affiliate, State Police were investigating after a driver claimed the driver of another car showed him a gun.

Troopers pulled the suspect over, which led to an altercation.

Two troopers were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

Troopers say several weapons and a pipe bomb were found in the man's car.

State Police have not mentioned what charges he is facing.
