ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- News10NBC and ESL Federal Credit Union congratulate this year's winners of the ESL Jefferson Award.
The award honors outstanding volunteers in our community.
At 93 years old, John Salzer is still at it.
As a former Kodak engineer, John has spent 30 years of retirement helping refugee families in Rochester.
At the International Academy, "Papa Jack" gives up his time teaching students math but he is just as much a mentor, father figure and friend.
Congratulations John for your outstanding volunteering!
