2019 Rochester International Jazz Festival: Street closures, entertainment, tickets

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) - The 18th edition of the Rochester International Jazz Festival is now here! Thousands of people will head downtown for the nine-day festival.

This year, festival attendees have the option to buy a 3- or 9-day Club Pass. The passes, which are shareable, give you unlimited access and allow you to come and go from shows as you like. 

You can buy tickets online, over the phone by calling (585) 454-2060, or in person. The ticket office is located at the corner of East Avenue and Gibbs Street. It is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the festival. 

You do not need tickets for free shows. 

ENTERTAINMENT 

Headliners for the festival include Patti LaBelle, Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Steve Miller Band with special guest Marty Stuart, George Benson, Steve Gadd Band, Marc Cohn, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. 

Free show headliners include the Allman Betts Band, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band 50th Anniversary featuring Dan Aykroyd, Trombone Shorty, and Orleans Avenue.

STREET CLOSURES

The nine-day festival will impact traffic in the East End and Main Street area of downtown. Streets will be closed through Saturday, June 29. 

Friday, June 14 to midnight, Monday, July 1

  • Gibbs Street (from East Avenue to E. Main Street): From 6 a.m.

Friday, June 21 through end of day Saturday, June 29

  • Main Street (from Scio Street to Chestnut Street): Daily, from 4 p.m. to midnight; Scio Street and Chestnut Street will remain open
  • East Avenue (from Scio Street to Chestnut Street) Daily, from 4 p.m. to midnight; Scio Street and Chestnut Street will remain open

Friday, June 28 to Saturday, June 29

  • Elm Street (From Clinton Avenue to Atlas Street): From 7 a.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29
  • Cortland Street (from Elm Street to E. Main Street): From 7 a.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29   
  • Andrew Langston Way (From Elm Street to E. Main Street): From 7 a.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29   
  • Elm Street (From Clinton Avenue to Chestnut Street): From 3 p.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29   
  • Atlas Street (From Euclid Street to Elm Street): From 3 p.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29   
  • Euclid Street (From Chestnut Street to Andrew Langston Way): From 3 p.m., Friday, June 28 to midnight, Sunday, June 29
