The state will sue the federal government to stop 3D-printed guns.
New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood is part of a coalition of eight attorneys general who are trying to block the distribution of materials that enable the printing of guns using 3D-printers.
They're untraceable and there's no background check required.
“It is, simply, crazy to give criminals the tools to build untraceable, undetectable 3D-printed guns at the touch of a button. Yet that's exactly what the Trump administration is allowing,” said Attorney General Underwood. “We won't stand by as New Yorkers’ safety is jeopardized by this abrupt about-face by the federal government.”
Two weeks ago, gun-rights supporters reached a settlement that will allow them to post plans and instructions for how to make 3D-printed weapons starting August 1.
