ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Some good news is on its way for the 72-year-old woman who was forcibly robbed of her vehicle.
On Friday, Lorraine Palma will be presented with a check for a new car from Van Bortel Subaru in Henrietta.
Last week, police say two 15-year-old teens approached Palma at her apartment complex on Garland Avenue and forcibly grabbed the keys to her 2013 Honda CRV.
Minutes from taking the report, police found the car on Fulton Avenue. When the car refused to pull over, a police chase ensued throughout the city. The chase ended when the teens crashed into another car at Buffalo and Howard roads in Gates.
The community reached out in support of Palma and created a GoFundMe account on her behalf to raise the money needed for a new car.
Kitty Van Bortel of Van Bortel Subaru agreed to match all the funds raised in the GoFundMe account.
On Friday afternoon, the dealership will officially be presenting her with the check.
