ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The local sports community and the local business community have joined forces to make sure many in the area have a good Thanksgiving meal.

Primetime Ballers and DiBella's Subs were at the Rochester Community Soccer Complex Saturday to put together meals for the Adopt-a-Family program, which serves more than 1,100 people in the Rochester area.

"It's for Thanksgiving, but it's not just food for Thanksgiving," organizer Karen Iglesia said. "We do all the fixings, it's not just that we're giving a turkey. They get turkey, they get ham, they get all the fixings that a meal would take from Thanksgiving. It's important that they get everything that everybody else would have."

The effort caught the attention of multiple other teams and businesses in the Rochester area. It also caught the eye of TV host Kelly Clarkson, who will spotlight the program on Monday as an example of how sports can tie the community together. Watch The Kelly Clarkson Show on News10NBC at 3 p.m.
