BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — It was the post-game comment heard around the Buffalo Bills fan base:
"Stir that mac and cheese up, you stir that mac and cheese up, and eventually the mac and cheese is gonna be nice, wet, and juicy."
That analogy by Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins after the Bills' comeback on Sunday against the New York Jets compared football to macaroni and cheese. It soon went viral, and national corporation Kraft even got in on the fun, putting out a tweet that added Dawkins' mac and cheese instructions to their box.
Now, Dawkins has his own signature dish at Mooney's Bar and Grill in Buffalo: the "Shnow Mac". It's a tribute to Dawkins' nickname, the Shnowman.
How did it happen?
"My marketing team helped out, and I just think Buffalo is a big family and they just welcomed me in and thought this would be a great idea," said Dawkins. "So here I am with my own Shnow Mac and cheese."
Mooney's chef Mike Heft made sure to pay tribute to Dawkins with the dish.
"He likes stir fry, so we put in stir fry Asian-style," said Heft. "And our mac and cheese is just like he said: hot, juicy [and] wet."
The days since the quote went viral have been a whirlwind for the third-year player out of Temple.
"If only people can really see what goes on inside my mind, I think of this stuff all the time," he said. "I'm blessed."
And he's in the mood to give back.
"I have a big bear hug for whoever wants to give me a hug, I'm just thankful to be here."
Dawkins and the Bills will return to the field on Sunday when they once again head to New Jersey, this time to face the New York Giants.
