Monroe County leaders announced Tuesday night that Amazon will open a 70,000-square-foot distribution facility in Henrietta.
The facility will be located 330 Clay Rd.
Amazon officials tell News10NBC the number of jobs the facility will bring to the area will be "significant."
The lease between developer Frank Imburgia and Amazon was signed on Tuesday. Imburgia said that the facility could be open in as soon as four months.
"When you're a developer, and you're trying to create opportunities, or gain an opportunity with a company like Amazon who's a global leader in being technologically savvy, time is money to them," Imburgia said. "We were successful with the county and the town of Henrietta being able to procure this at an expeditious manner. Wen they realized we could do that, that's why they came here."
Monroe County leaders are working on potential tax breaks for Amazon, which will need approval from Imagine Monroe.
This will be Amazon's first facility in upstate New York.
