Missing 14-year-old girl from Bergen found safe

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office has canceled the AMBER Alert for 14-year-old Kamerie Elliott.

According to Elliott's grandmother, the 14-year-old was found safe at a Walmart in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police say Elliott was found with 22-year-old Guillermo Torres-Acevedo, also known as Willy, in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.

Police say Elliott was unharmed and will be transported back to Genesee County.

Meanwhile, Torres-Acevedo was taken into custody on warrants from New York state and will be held in Pennsylvania pending extradition proceedings.

Deputies say Elliott was taken by Torres-Acevedo on West Bergen Road in Bergen around 8 a.m. on Thursday.

Police were notified that Elliott was missing after she didn't show up for school Thursday morning. The school called Elliott's mother who proceeded to call the sheriff's office.

However, police believe Elliott went willingly.

On Monday, Nov. 27, Torres-Acevedo was arrested on charges of rape, criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of a child in connection to an incident on Nov. 8.

Torres-Acevedo was released from custody on a cash bail on Nov. 28 with supervision by the Town of Batavia court. They have since issued a bench warrant for him.

The investigation is still ongoing by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Secret Service.

Police say additional charges are pending.

News10NBC will continue to update this story on-air and online as more information becomes available.
