BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC)- A man from Arcade was arrested for DWI and second-degree reckless endangerment after he struck a Wyoming County Sheriff's Office vehicle on Thursday.

According to a press release from New York State Police Troop A in Batavia, 27-year-old Tyler J. Malik was arrested after an investigation into a three-car crash with injury on State Route 98 in the Town of Java. During the investigation, it was determined that Malik was headed southbound when he failed to observe the Wyoming County Sheriff car, which was occupied by a deputy working a traffic stop. Malik rear-ended the car, causing minor injuries to the deputy.

The deputy was transported to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, where he was treated and released.

Malik was released on appearance tickets and will return to the Town of Java court on a later date.
