Assembly Judiciary Committee invited to review Cuomo impeachment investigation report

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee Wednesday announced that the committee was invited to review the report on the impeachment investigation into former governor Andrew Cuomo next week.

Charles Lavine (D, 13) said the report by Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP will be reviewed on Thursday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 19.

Lavine said the investigation included interviews with 165 witnesses, along with the review of hundreds of thousands of documents, recordings, messages, memos, transcripts and other materials.

While Cuomo is no longer an elected official and therefore can’t be impeached, the Assembly Judiciary Committee resolved to make the results of the investigation public anyway.

The committee was looking into sexual harassment allegations as well as the State’s response to the COVID-19 nursing home deaths and misuse of state resources among other issues. He says millions of dollars were set aside for the complete investigation.
