ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — We may soon know if the man authorities say is responsible for a deadly 2018 limo crash that killed 20 people near Albany will plead guilty, or go to trial.

Nauman Hussain's attorney met with prosecutors Wednesday, and he tells WNYT  his client will not accept any plea bargain that involves jail time.

Hussain is the operator of the limo company and was the only person charged in connection to the deadly crash. He is charged with 20 counts of manslaughter and 20 counts of criminally negligent homicide.

Last year the NTSB put some of the blame on the state's Department of Transportation and the DMV, citing poor oversight and not following up on repairs.  A state Senator has called for an investigation into both departments.

The attorney added to WNYT, he's confident he could get an acquittal for his client. as he said it would be difficult to find 12 jurors in the county who haven't heard about the case.
