It was a long winter but now, with the warmer weather, most are itching to get back outside for some festivities.
To kick off Rochester's festival season is the Lilac Festival which starts tomorrow. This will be the 128th year of this event.
To start the day the festival is having a fundraiser for veterans. If you donate a dollar for a flag to plant you can help local vets.
There are also plenty of live bands expected as well as some other events.
"There is a myriad of things to do in the park, the flowers are just magnificent even today," stated Jeff Springut,
Lilac Festival promoter. "And the lilacs are peaking out right now so if the weather holds certainly by from what I am told by the experts' mid-week we will have a plethora of lilacs."
Even though the lilacs are not in full bloom yet, the weather will be nice to start off the day Friday.
