ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Legislation intended to help with nursing home and hospital staffing has made it to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's desk.

The package of bills has passed both the State Senate and Assembly Tuesday afternoon.

One of the proposals requires every hospital to set up annual staffing plans for nurses and support staff.

Another mandates that the Commissioner of Health publicize new safe staffing requirements in nursing homes.

Nursing home owners have expressed concerns that there are not enough people interested in working in nursing homes to meet the staffing requirements outlined in the bills.
