Police in Schenectady investigated a threat at a church on Friday night, finding that it was apparently a hoax.

According to our sister station WNYT in Albany, someone called police and claimed there was a bomb at the First Reformed Church on 8 North Church Street in Schenectady. The caller also said he had an AR-15 and would shoot officers once they arrived on scene.

Multiple agencies responded, along with K-9s and a robot. Police did at least two sweeps of the area and did not seem to find anything.

According to WNYT reporter Brooke Selby, the police were preparing to leave the scene. In addition Schenectady Police tweeted that the incident had ended and all streets had reopened.
