Bristol Mountain opened to skiers and snowboarders on Saturday, the earliest opening day for the winter sports complex since 1991.

The season was to officially start at noon on Saturday, with the Sunset Trail and Sunset Lift being open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Lodge services will also be available, although the kitchen will only have a limited menu.

“Our Snowmaking Team have outdone themselves with this very quick turn around.  We saw an opportunity to lay down base on Sunset Trail and the team rallied so we could get our guests on snow this weekend!”, said Mountain Manager, Paul Trippi in a press release.

The opening is the earliest since the 1991, when the season began on November 9.
