Clawson is a U.S. Army reservist and he's been with the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion in Mosul and Baghdad.

Saturday was the chance for colleagues and loved ones to give him a big salute after 10 months away.

"It was a blessing," explained Clawson. "I had no idea that so many people are going to show up. It was overwhelming. It was great. I loved holding on to my wife and I can't wait to get home."

The Blue Star Mothers Organization of Families of Deployed Troops assisted in the welcome home.

Clawson says he'll be taking about a month and a half off, then be back on the job with the Brockport police.
