Officials say a Canandaigua man is facing charges after a dog had to be euthanized to relieve suffering.

The Ontario County Humane Society says a St. Bernard named B-Dog had a broken leg, which was left untreated for several months.  As a result, her leg became infected and she was unable to stand or walk on it, according to officials. The Humane Society says B-Dog, believed to be eight or nine-years-old, was so emaciated that she was immediately transported to a veterinarian who recommended that she be euthanized to relieve her suffering.
