According to police, the woman and the boy were in a yard when a four-door sedan crossed it and struck the front porch where the two were sitting, hitting them.

The destruction didn't stop there, however, as police say the driver of the car that struck the child and the woman also hit a house before fleeing the scene. The driver then fled the scene.

Soon after, police received another call, saying that a four-door sedan had hit another  car at Lake Avenue and Phelps Avenue. Four people were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries from the crash; a 48-year old man and a 56 year old woman in one car, and a 25-year old man and 13-year old male in the other.

Police are continuing to investigate whether the two accidents are connected, but say it is a definite possibility they are looking into. They say they have a lot of witnesses they are speaking to, but say they are still open to any information that people may have and that those who witnessed either accident should contact them.
