BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — Border Patrol Officers seized almost two tons of marijuana at the Port of Buffalo Monday.

CBP Officers at the Peace Bridge searched a shipment marked as lighting and found 14 wooden pallet boxes filled with vacuum-sealed bags of pot.

Customs estimated the street value at more than $8 million.

CBP says it's seen a steady increase in drug seizures in Buffalo. From Oct. 1 through Aug. 10, the Buffalo Office made more than 1,500 seizures, totaling more than 27,000 pounds of drugs.
