ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC went through every single Child Victims Act lawsuit filed in Monroe County that names the Diocese of Rochester as a defendant. We found the names of 11 priests accused of abuse that do not appear on the diocese's official list which was updated in July.

We contacted the diocese and shared the names of the 11 priests. In an email, diocese spokesman Doug Mandelaro wrote: "As we stated yesterday [Wednesday], out of respect for the claimants and the legal process, we are not going to comment."

News10NBC found obituaries for five of the 11 new priests named in the lawsuits. We are attempting to contact the priests who are still living and their attorneys.

What happened Thursday?

After a flurry of lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse Wednesday, just one was filed in Monroe County Thursday.

The lawsuit filed Thursday is against Hillside. We knew this lawsuit was coming because we spoke to the man who filed it and says he was abused when he was a child.

On Tuesday, News10NBC's Charles Molineaux told you the story of Gregory Wilson. He says he was about 9 years old when he was raped and repeatedly beaten at what was then the Children's Convalescent Center in Rochester in the 1970s. Now it's called Crestwood Children's Center. Wilson's lawsuit was filed at 12:06 a.m.

When we contacted Hillside, it said it cannot comment on lawsuits.

Wilson described how the abuse affected his life.

"I've tried committing suicide," he said. "But it didn't work. Why? I have no damn idea. I just don't want what happened to me...I don't want that happening to another kid."

These lawsuits are part of the New York State Child Victims Act. The law opened a one-year window where people who feel they were abused can sue no matter when the alleged abused happened.

More than three dozen lawsuits were filed in Monroe County since midnight Wednesday and more than 100 lawsuits were filed in Buffalo.
