Some local volunteers are reaching around the world with some tidying up for the environment and their faith.
Sunday, members of the World Mission Society Church of God worked to rake and bag trash and leaves on West Broad Street in Rochester.
Other members of the church have been working similar cleanup jobs in Puerto Rico, and on the other side of the world in Nepal.
The cleanup is part of an international push dubbed "Mother's Street" to improve environmental awareness and show how people can make their surroundings better. Similar cleanups are underway this week in dozens of countries.
Church members hope to clean up and beautify enough land so that it adds up to the circumference of the entire world.
Sunday's cleanup in Rochester was done in cooperation with the city. It got rid of 55 bags of debris.
