The Perseid meteor shower is at its peak this weekend and clear, moonless skies make viewing it ideal.

This summertime meteor shower is an annual occurrence when the earth passes through the dust and debris left behind by comet Swift-Tuttle.

To find these meteors, simply look straight up into the sky. The best time to watch is just before dawn.  

According to EarthSky website, as many as 50 to 60 meteors per hour may be seen.
