Community says farewell to beloved K9 with untreatable cancer

SAUGUS, Ma (WBTS) -- A Massachusetts community helped its police department say goodbye to its K9 that has been battling an untreatable form of cancer.

Everyone knows a dog is man's best friend and Bruin, a K9 with the Saugus Police Department, was no exception.

The community came out Thursday in honor of Bruin who served Saugus Police the last nine years before being diagnosed. 

He was honored with a final ride through the town, passing schools where he was a regular.

The procession was attended by K9 officers around the region.
