Compromise may be in sight on "I Love New York" signs

July 20, 2017 10:22 AM

The battle between Governor Andrew Cuomo's administration and the federal government over "I Love NY" signs could be coming to an end.

The Federal Highway Administration's acting Deputy Administrator said they are working with the state to develop a new pilot program for the signs, which dot state highways.

Currently, the signs violate highway regulations and law.

It is not yet known what a pilot program for the signs could look like, or if any of the signs would have to be taken down.
